Thank you to the Officers and Committee for inviting me to judge Pugs at their show, I enjoyed my day, special thanks to the exhibitors for a fantastic quality entry.

Junior: (5,1)
1st Ashton – Zobear’s Hello Dolly, 8 month fawn bitch, caught my eye entering the ring and didn’t disappoint on further inspection. A square, cobby girl, everything flows together perfectly, beautiful neck, excellent shoulder placement, level topline finishing with an excellent tailset, the most feminine head with correct earset and beautiful eyes.  When she moved out showed the Pug true movement with plenty drive action.  One I wish every success in the future. BPIB and BPIS4

1st Cunningham – Moyard Stargazer, 14 month fawn male, A square cobby boy with a lovely head and definitely male.  Nice short coat and lovely black nails, level topline, correct tailset, correct shoulder placement with legs well under and depth of chest unfortunately in the challenge lost all interest and gave his handler a hard time, another one with a bright future.

1st Ashton – Tangetoppens Take a Hint JW (Imp Nor), 23 month fawn male, a square cobby boy with an excellent head set on a correct neck onto excellent shoulder placement, legs well under and correct depth of chest, excellent tailset, when this boy moves he moves, plenty of rear drive and he commands your attention, was so pleased when he went onto win BIS.  BOB and BIS.

First of all I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for my Judging Appointment , my first in Scotland and delighted and proud to be asked to do so . I was delighted with my entry and quality of exhibits to go over making one or two decisions on the day very close indeed , my thanks also to the exhibitors for there entries and accepting my decisions sportingly. I hope you all enjoyed your day as much as I did in a lovely show, with a great atmosphere which I always look forward to when exhibiting myself .

PUPPY   6  [0] 
 1st GOWS GRAJENCO MACHIATO - 7 Month old ruby bitch . She entered the ring and looked really lively and confident within herself. First impressions did not disappoint either.
Good head and skull with high set ears, eyes large dark and round, correct length of muzzle , scissor bite and dentition and black button nose with face well cushioned . Moderate length neck , good front and rear angulation with a spirit level top line and correct tail carriage . Coat nice straight and silky with good pigmentation.   
On the move she did not disappoint either ,in full flow she showed elegance and drive from well proportioned angulation coming and going with perfect top line and tail carriage . In between showing her playful puppy character , she looked just pretty as a picture. My BP and I think an exciting prospect so much she was considered for BOB .
I will follow her future with interest lovely exhibit .

 1ST  GOWS CORALVALLEY CHARM AT LYNCRAEG , almost 12 Month old Blenheim bitch with good head and skull , high set ears with nice feathering , large dark round eyes spaced well apart , good length muzzle , correct.  scissor bite and dentition. Chest moderate with nice straight legs front and rear as she stood square on the table,  good reach of neck ,well laid back shoulders , good spring of rib , level top line and nice tail set .
On the move showing her good angulation coming and going with level top line and tail carriage.

GRADUATE   5  [ 2 ]
 1st GASKELLS JEILOHNHONEYBERRY .
 Tricolour bitch almost 18Months old . Very feminine features , good head and skull, large dark eyes spaced well apart , long high set ears with good feathering . Correct length of muzzle , bite and dentition with black button nose .
Face well filled with correct tan markings over eyes , cheeks , inside ears , inside legs and on underside of tail. Moderately  boned , with good angulation front and rear which she used to her full advantage on the move, coming and going with good drive and spirit level top line and perfect tail carriage . With her well broken silky coat she looked a picture and was flawless on the move , another lovely exhibit I could not deny her a well deserved BOB .

  1st  GASKELLS JEILOHN PICKLES - Smart tricolour boy 18Months old with good head and skull, large dark eyes set well apart with nice cushioning , correct length muzzle  bite and dentition , with good nose pigment .
Well boned with good chest and shoulders , good spring of rib , level top line and nice tail set . Well groomed straight coat showing plenty of feathering . He showed his good front and rear angulation well on the move coming and going with good drive from behind ,a confident young man maturing nicely . It was a very close call between 1st and 2nd I just preferred the size of the winner both very nice exhibits .

 1st   FRASERS COSTARA RUADH AT LYNCRAEG , lively ruby boy who was desperate to please his handler . Good head and skull with high set ears , large dark eyes set well apart , correct length of muzzle , good bite and dentition, with good pigmentation to nose. Moderate length of neck on well laid back shoulders , good chest short coupled with good spring of rib . Good angulation front and rear with level top line and nice tail carriage on the move .
Another very close contest between 1st and 2nd , the enthusiasm of the winner on the day just my preferred decision.

1ST Lynch’s Garnox Ally Bally Bee JW – Beautiful 3 year old bitch. Well domed skull with good muzzle. Dark, round expressive eyes giving typical saucy expression. Large ears of correct set. Arched neck of good length running into clean shoulders. Excellent body proportions, good chest and nice spring of rib. Hindquarters well muscled and angulated. Sickle tail never stopped wagging. Moved freely with good reach and drive and plenty of attitude!  Loved her.  BOB

Moved well with enough reach & drive BPIB

Good neck into well laid shoulders, well sprung ribs and good depth of chest. Body of good proportions, holding her level topline. Well muscled hindquarters with good turn of stifle and well let down hocks. Dainty feet. Correct tailset with good plumage. Well feathered. Moved straight coming and going with plenty reach and drive.  Pushed hard for BOB.

Typical saucy expression. Good neck into well laid shoulders, well rounded ribcage and good depth of chest. Straight forelegs. Level topline and well angulated hindquarters. Good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Correct sickle tail with good plume. Super soft coat in excellent condition. Never stopped showing. Moved with style, reach and drive. Won BOB on her super – oh so full of herself – attitude.

Good length of neck into well laid shoulders. Good depth of chest and well ribbed. Level topline. Good hind angles. Moved well with animation. BPIB delighted to see him go PG3

Correct front assembly with well laid shoulders, good depth of chest and straight forelegs. Well bodied, good spring of rib and level topline. Good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. High tailset with good plume. Moved well.

Positive movement coming and going. Moved with style. BOB

1ST Rogers’ Alizo Betting It On Black – 12 month old dog who has really come on since I last saw him. Such a pretty head. Round dark eyes full of mischief.  Dark pigment with good haloes. Good reach of neck into a nice front assembly, enough bone and good depth of chest. Compact little body, well ribbed with short loin. Correct tailset with good plumage. Loved his size. Soft white coat expertly presented. Gave his handler a hard time but moved with animation and drive.

1ST Doran’s Alizo Desert Rose – Another immaculately presented bitch from this handler.  Feminine head and expression, dark round eyes with black rims. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Well bodied and ribbed. Straight front legs with good bone. Good angulation to hind quarters which were well muscled.  Moved soundly coming and going keeping her level topline with moderate reach and drive.  Lacking in nose pigment today.

1ST Mackie’s CH Suanity Mystic Mercury at Cydmar – A bitch who truly deserves her title. Ultra feminine head with the darkest of eyes and pigment.  Good head proportions with rounded skull. Nice length of neck running smoothly into well set shoulders.  Good depth of chest and well sprung ribs. Short, broad loins and compact body. Well muscled hindquarters with good angulation. Black pads. Good tailset with excellent plumage. Soft silky white coat presented well. Had her showing head on today and moved with good reach and drive. BOB & Shortlisted in group

I was honoured to be invited to judge this show and I would like to thank the Officers and Committee of Scottish Toydog Society for inviting me to judge and also for the wonderful hospitality shown to me during the day. Finally, I would like to thank all exhibitors for entering.

Best In Show: Ashton’s Tangetoppens Take A Hint (Pug)
Absolutely adored this dog. Square, cobby and well muscled. Head is large and round with large dark eyes full and wide open nostrils. Short body with required broad chest well sprung ribs with an excellent level topline. Excelled in movement whilst maintaining a slight roll – he is all Pug and he knows it! Demanded Best in Show and I could not deny him.  
Res Best in Show:   Easdon & Martin’s Yakee Xceedingly Xcited (Pekingese)
Another top drawer exhibit with an excellent, masculine head and expression with strong underjaw. Great bone and substance under his beautifully presented puppy coat, when picking him up, he is solidly made.  Overall balanced puppy with a clearly defined waist, creating a pleasing shape. Moved very well. Elighted to award him Best Puppy in Show also.

18month old  B/T male with a very nice head and expression. Good strong jaw with lovely bite. Moved very well with hackneyed action. Very nice tailset. The young handler managed to get the best out of him as she showed non stop during the class.

Larger type but nonetheless a quality bitch. Very pleasing head and expression. Lovely neck which flowed into excellent shoulder placement. Beautiful shape and in excellent condition, she moved well with good action in both directions.

Another lovely specimen from this kennel. Really liked him a lot. Lovely head and expression with black nose. Lovely balanced shape with good body and level topline. Showed well in his class but unfortunately he had another handler for BOB competition and he refused to cooperate, but have to say, he was a very close contender and if he had, it could have been a different outcome. Nice coat of lovely colour.

Male with a very nice outline. Pleasing head with good foreface and correctly shaped eyes giving an overall lovely expression. Short loin and level topline and firmly muscled quarters. Moved well with drive and purpose. Excellent silky coat which was beautifully presented. BOB

Light wolf sable dog of beautiful type. Lovely head with perfect mouth. Nice body with excellent tailset, creating an overall compact, balanced shape.  Well coated and presented to perfection.  Excelled in hind movement. BOB and BIS 4.
