Mrs Levitt's Critique for Open Show March 22nd 2015



SCOTTISH TOYDOG SOCIETY
OPEN SHOW – 22ND MARCH 2015
My thanks to the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at this well run show, also for the generous Scottish hospitality extended to me. I would like to thank my steward for her help. Thanks must also go to the exhibitors for allowing me to go over such high quality dogs, all immaculately presented. This all added to the enjoyment of my day.

PUPPY: 5 {1a}
1st Gibb-Stuart’s TANGLEDWOOD CHASE THE ACE
9 Month old Ruby dog, Almost flat skull between his ears, large dark eyes giving him a lovely expression. Moderate length of neck with good shoulder placement, short coupled body with good spring of rib. Moved well. Won this quality puppy class on maturity.
2nd Gaskell’s JEILOHN PICKLES
6 Month old Tri dog, He showed so well for a baby, his large dark eyes and good pigmentation together with his rich tan markings gives him his gentle expression. Good reach of neck together with shoulders well laid back, short coupled body keeping his top line level.  Moved well front and rear. Very promising puppy.
3rd Gaskell’s JEILJOHN HONEYBERRY

1st Ballantine’s MIDDLESHOT KING OF HEARTS
13 Month old Blenheim dog, pleasing head with large dark eyes and well cushioned muzzle gives him a melting expression. Moderate length of neck, well laid shoulders with good spring of rib.  Moved with drive keeping his level top line. Good good tail set.  Well presented.
2nd Fraser’s TINGEWOOD TAM’O’SHANTER
12 Month old Ruby dog, nice head and ear set. Short coupled body with good spring of rib.  Moderate bone, level top line. Moved well round the ring.
3rd Blair’s BELLFLOWS GENTLE LITTLE MAN

1st Ballie’s PEAKDOWNS SKYFALL AT CAVALLINO
Blenheim dog, lovely head, ears set high with plenty of feathers and large dark eye giving gentle expression. Good reach of neck, well laid shoulders, good spring of rib.  Level top line, elegant in action and moved with drive. At one with his handler.  Shown in lovely coat and condition.
2nd White’s LYNCRAEG LEADING LIGHT AT CARLENY
Blenheim bitch, feminine head, large dark eyes and scissor bite. Well broken markings and nicely balanced. When she settled down moved well and kept a level top line.
3rd Baillie’s FYRNROSE HELLO DOLLY

1st Gibb-Stuart’s CHANTISMERE PUSH MY BUTTON JW
Blenheim dog, masculine head, large dark eyes, well cushioned muzzle giving a lovely gentle expression, neck of moderate length and slightly arched leading to well laid back shoulders.  Body short coupled with good spring of rib, good rear angulation. Moves with drive keeping a level top line both moving and standing.  Rich chestnut gleaming coat presented in lovely condition. B.O.B  and later short listed for B.I.S.
2nd Fraser,s COSTARA RUADH AT LYNCRAEG
Ruby dog, lovely head with large dark eyes giving nice expression. Good reach of neck with level top line and good tail set. Moved with drive. Nicely balanced dog who was well presented.
3rd Drennan’s KINVAAR THEODORA OF CALATEN

1st Baillie’s PEAKDOWNS RYAN AT CAVALLINO
Blenheim dog, beautiful markings, almost flat skull ears long and high set. Large dark eyes, cushioned muzzle giving a gentle expression. Body short coupled, good spring of rib and level back.  Elegant in action with plenty of drive from behind keeping a level top line.
2nd Baillie’s SELKIES HEAVENLY PRINCE AT FYRNROSE
Blenheim dog, large dark eyes, good pigmentation, cushioned muzzle giving soft expression. Good reach of neck, well balanced short coupled body keeping a level top line moved well.
3rd White’s ROTHES HAZEL AT CARLENY
